About AI Resume Tailor

A short, honest guide to what the tool does, where it helps, and what it will never do.

What is a tailored resume?

A tailored resume is your own resume reworded to mirror the language of one specific job ad. Same jobs, same dates, same skills — different phrasing, so both the scanning software and the recruiter see the match immediately. It is not a second career story; it is the same story told in the words that role uses.

Why tailor a resume?

Most applications are filtered by software before a person sees them, and that software looks for the exact terms used in the job ad. A generic resume can be rejected while you are perfectly qualified. Tailoring raises your keyword coverage, shows the recruiter you actually read the ad, and takes about a minute instead of a full rewrite.

What does AI Resume Tailor do?

Most resumes are scanned by software before a human reads them. AI Resume Tailor rewords your existing experience to match the language in the job description, without inventing anything.

How is this different from other resume tools?

It does not add fake skills, jobs, or metrics. It only rephrases what is already in your resume. It also flags must-have requirements the job asks for that your resume doesn't show, and every suggestion is yours to keep, reject or rewrite in your own words before you download.

Why is my tailored resume a Word file instead of a PDF?

A PDF locks in its fonts, glyph positions and spacing, so rewriting text inside your original PDF reliably breaks the layout — and a broken resume is worse than an untailored one. So you get an editable Word (.docx) file with your content intact, or a PDF rebuilt from one of our three clean templates. The template PDFs won't copy your original design, but they always hold together and stay easy for scanners to read.

Will this guarantee I pass an ATS?

No. It improves keyword coverage and file parsing reliability, but every employer uses different systems and rules we cannot see.

What is the match score?

An estimate based on how well your resume covers the role's stated requirements. It is not the employer's real score.

What will the tool never change?

Job titles, employer names, dates, language levels, degrees, certifications, numbers, and metrics stay exactly as written.

Can I edit the changes before downloading?

Yes. The review page lets you keep, reject, or rewrite each suggestion in your own words.

What file types are supported?

PDF and DOCX. DOCX usually gives the most reliable result because it is easier for parsing systems to read.

Is my data stored?

Emails are collected only if you choose to share one before downloading. Your resume file is not kept.
